We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Staff Accountant to join our team in Bluffton, Indiana. Responsibilities: as a Staff Accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining our company’s financial health and supporting our day-to-day office administration. You will work alongside an experienced Controller and Director of Finance. Your responsibilities will include:
• Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions with accuracy and efficiency.
• Assisting with payroll processing, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Supporting month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Assisting with office administration tasks, such as maintaining records, corresponding with vendors and customers as needed, and being the primary backup for the Office Administrator.
• Working independently to manage financial tasks while also collaborating with the team as needed.
• Identifying and resolving discrepancies, applying strong problem-solving skills to financial challenges.
• Ensuring compliance with tax regulations and assisting with audits as required.
• Providing administrative support to senior management regarding financial matters.
Skills & Qualifications: to be successful in this role, you should bring:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Accounting, or equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years of experience in Accounting, preferably in the Construction Industry
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• A strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• The ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment.
• An understanding of basic accounting principles and office administration.
• Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve financial discrepancies.
